All talks will be held in Withers Hall, Room 140, located on NC State’s North Campus. The first floor of Withers Hall is most easily accessed using the building’s side doors.

Accommodation

The Aloft Raleigh, which is within easy walking distance of NC State University’s North Campus, has reserved a small block of rooms for conference attendees at a discounted rate of $192 per night. Please use this link and book by September 18 to receive this special rate.

Parking

Free parking will be available almost anywhere on North Campus on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, but on Friday, October 17 it will be necessary to park off campus or in one of the visitor parking areas on campus, such as the Dan Allen Deck Pay Area or the Coliseum Deck Pay Area.

Air Travel

Raleigh is served by the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), located approximately 12 miles northwest of campus. Ground transportation options for getting into Raleigh include taxis and ride shares (Uber, Lyft). A taxi from RDU to NC State University (or the Aloft Raleigh Hotel) should cost approximately $30-35. Taxi dispatchers are located outside both terminals at RDU. The Terminal 1 Taxi Dispatch Booth is located outside Bag Claim 3. At Terminal 2, where most flights will arrive, the booth is located on the lower level outside Bag Claim 1. (If traveling directly to campus, be sure to ask the taxi driver to take you to NC State University, NOT the University of North Carolina, which is located in Chapel Hill. A good dropoff point is the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Horne Street.)

There is a selection of eating and drinking establishments along and close to Hillsborough Street opposite NC State University’s North Campus.
