Conference on Higher-Order Cognition

NC State University’s Logic and Cognitive Science Initiative hosted a conference on higher-order cognition on September 22-23, 2017.

Focusing on issues related to meta-cognition (cognition about cognition), the conference covered topics such as the questioning attitude, primate metacognition, higher-order moral cognition and the attribution of knowledge and belief. The conference speakers were experts in philosophy or psychology from a range of North American universities.

Based in the NC State Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, the Logic and Cognitive Science Initiative (LACSI) organizes a high-level conference on a select theme every two years. The September 2017 conference on higher-order cognition was the fifth LACSI conference.
