Conference on Laws of Nature, Explanation and Understanding

NC State University’s Logic and Cognitive Science Initiative (LACSI) hosted a conference on three related themes in the philosophy of science in Withers Hall on September 16-17, 2022: laws of nature, explanation and understanding. The speakers, who were drawn from a range of American universities, included both well-established and emerging experts.

Based in the NC State Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, LACSI usually usually organizes a high-level conference on a select theme every two years. The September 2022 conference, the seventh in the series, had to be postponed from September 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
