Spring Graduation Reaches New Heights

Two-thirds of this spring's honorees graduated with honors

Eighteen students graduated with degrees in one or more of our disciplines this spring. A remarkable two-thirds of these graduated with honors: eight summa cum laude (GPA ≥ 3.75), one magna cum laude (GPA 3.5–3.749), and three cum laude (GPA 3.25–3.449). One graduate also completed the University Honors Program and two completed the University Scholars Program.

The graduates were:

Fifteen of the eighteen graduates attended the department ceremony, along with an audience of more than 110 friends, family, faculty, and staff. The capacity crowd is believed to be the department’s largest ever by a significant margin.

Three of the department’s outstanding seniors also received awards during the graduation ceremony. Cadence Dawn Campbell received the Religious Studies Prize in Honor of Professor W. Curtis Fitzgerald; Andrew Paul, who will graduate in December 2024, received the Philosophy Prize in Honor of Professor Robert S. Bryan; and Cutter J. Bell received the Logic and Cognitive Science Initiative Award.

The department congratulates all these graduates and award winners on their achievements and wishes them well in their future endeavors!
